This release is clearly a labor of love. Friday is perfect with the lovely improvised sax interplaying with Tristan’s minimal guitar style. And I love concept albums and those willing to produce vinyl given the financial constraints. Kudos to Verses Records too!
Tristan Welch is a musician / artist / activist based in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area. His focus is creating soundscapes via electric guitar, treated with electronics.
“40 Hours” will be his 4th release.
A self- professed fascination with minimalism and repetition is evident in his current work; a hypnotic layering of melodics that evolve and dissipate while maintaining a steady tonal center.
The track listing reads as regular work week; Monday - Friday. The tracks reflect the ups and downs of the daily grind. Getting up, working, eating, possibly some recreation and sleeping - only to do it all over again. He hopes the record will be treated as therapy to the working class struggle and as a statement against it.

Captures the bleakness of current humankind trajectory and contains sprinkles of the beauty of existence. His best so far in my humble opinion. 1111222334
Sometimes one instrument stands out in a band and here I admire the very creative guitar-work, dissonant, edgy and daring. The whole band creates an energy, which seems to jump out off your speakers. If you love the dissonance of Sonic Youth and the aggressive drive of the Dead Kennedys you should give this a try. Dirk Radloff

The 17 mindbending songs on this compilation represent minimalist experimental music at its best, a collage of blips and static. Bandcamp New & Notable Dec 3, 2022
An experimental composer from Ireland, Stephen Roddy proves equally adept at crushing soundscapes as he does mysterious melodies. Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 13, 2022
