acefstripe This release is clearly a labor of love. Friday is perfect with the lovely improvised sax interplaying with Tristan’s minimal guitar style. And I love concept albums and those willing to produce vinyl given the financial constraints. Kudos to Verses Records too!

Mike Bodulow Tristan's 40 Hours is a great listen, but it was even more enjoyable live. I recommend supporting and seeing him in person if possible! Favorite track: Friday.

Gray Lee Hazy ambient guitar melange that soundtracks, laments, and makes commentary on each day of the work week.

Tristan Welch is a musician / artist / activist based in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area. His focus is creating soundscapes via electric guitar, treated with electronics.
“40 Hours” will be his 4th release.
A self- professed fascination with minimalism and repetition is evident in his current work; a hypnotic layering of melodics that evolve and dissipate while maintaining a steady tonal center.
The track listing reads as regular work week; Monday - Friday. The tracks reflect the ups and downs of the daily grind. Getting up, working, eating, possibly some recreation and sleeping - only to do it all over again. He hopes the record will be treated as therapy to the working class struggle and as a statement against it.
