Tag Cloud is the solo project of artist Chris Videll. "Pattern Recognition" is his fourth proper release, and balances between composed pieces and an early 2017 improvisation.
Beginning in 2010 with experiments in field recordings, Videll has expanded his current sonic palette to include kit built electronics, analog and semi-modular synths, cheap keyboards, acoustic drone instruments and percussion. Always self- recorded, influences range broadly from
Krautrock, noise, and environmental acoustics to working within the experimental scene in Washington DC.
Chris steadily writes and performs as Tag Cloud while continuing collaborations with projects including BLK TAG with James S. Adams (BLK w/Bear, Stylus) and Zschwishenzug with Gary Rouzer and Phong Tran (Halo Valley, The Shouts from the Sea).

This is one of the most moving suites of music I have ever heard. The music wonderfully complements the narrator's story. One of the best releases of this or any year, one of the best albums this label has to offer, and one that leaves me eager to hear Scheible's next work. A difficult listen due to the emotional nature of the work, but one that is absolutely worthy of repeated journeys into Scheible's sonic world and the narrator's heartbreaking story. Alec L. Critten
