Classically trained cellist and viola da gamba player Amy Domingues and multi-instrumentalist/composer Dennis Kane have performed for years in the Washington, DC indie/experimental scene in collaborations with others. Finally working together under the name Domingues & Kane, they weave the eloquent resonances of the viola da gamba with electronic treatments, keyboard, and guitar to create a rich sonic fabric. Drawing from traditions as varied as Renaissance counterpoint, basso ostinato, and improvisation, the duo forges a new instrumental genre all its own.
On their latest release, “Rough Magick”, Domingues & Kane explore the compositional and sonic possibilities of the Viola da Gamba and Electric Guitar combination. There is more experimentation in the playing, the sound is symphonic and atmospheric; each piece has a unique resonance to share with the listener.

Far out is an excellent descriptor for GOATS latest release. While saying that, if feels personal and nostalgic at times too. Never a dull moment as they say. It’s just really cool. Take a listen to it.. acefstripe
There is a certain beauty that reflects upon ages gone. There is an uncertain beauty in reflecting upon the chaos of the new. There is true beauty in accepting what we have, what we were and how we can be. It is the magick of social acknowledgment and the movement beyond the self.it is a little slice of human in a hedge fund world. heselton
