Torus is an epic, ambient journey into synthesis by Andrew Reichel, AKA Gel-Sol.
In 2016, work for the full length release Horse Head Bookends began with a series of lab experiments featuring the giant modular system MORT. These experiments were well documented, and took on a life of their own. Inspired by the Stanford Torus, a NASA-proposed space habitat which rotates slowly in outer space, while maintaining it’s Earthly origins. A complete movement spanning just over 45 minutes, Torus takes you on an exploration of inner and outer space.
